New app and sneak photo

Hello All! Happy Sunday to you.
Blogging is quite possibly the absolute most difficult task for me. Many times I've just wanted to take it down. However, today! it dawned on me...."there must be an app". Sure enough. There is! I look forward to documenting the happenings of A.R.E.D. and our clients (more frequently ;)) in the days to come. While I'm writing, I should share a sneak photo from last night's event setup. Our bride, Whitney, wanted a ceiling of cafe lights with no tent! How'd we do?

Beautiful Beaufort Wedding - Julia and Robby

On a perfect day in October, Julia and Robby Renken exchanged vows at St. Peter Catholic Church.  Mother of the Bride surprised the radiant bride with a special recessional.  The El Shaddai choir belted "Oh Happy Day" from the balcony as the couple was presented.  Guests left with huge smiles on their faces as they prepared for the comfortable reception at the Bride's childhood home.  In the same backyard where she played with her sister and brother and shared family events, she reminisced with wedding guests under the oaks and along the river among a sea of floral and white.  It was a lovely afternoon on the river with lots of fun and laughs.

Parker's Favorites

In June, we got the opportunity to work with the very talented Parker Pfister on Sarah and Ralf's June wedding.  Stay tuned for our Friday Feature on Parker's work.  Until then, enjoy his favorites from Sarah and Ralf's Big Day.
(We recommend enjoying the images with a big cup of coffee on this cold day)

2013 Wedding Trends

As we peruse the web, magazines, and beyond searching for the latest and greatest in wedding trends we find some trends we think are hot and some...well, not (which we won't mention).

HERE ARE OUR TOP 5:

No. 5
1920's inspiration...we think this fashion is the "bee's knees"!

No. 3
Release lanterns!  We used these at one of our May 5 weddings this year and it was amazing!  Perfect for a send off over the water.

No. 2
Not an old concept but now jazzed up a bit, Birch Lighting.  We can definitely see these in some of our 2013 designs.

No.1
MINT! The color of the season is one we've loved for a while at A.R.E.  We would use this tone in any way possible!  In decor, fashion, jewelry, etc.

Lowcountry Shoot : The Oaks Plantation on the Chowan Creek

At the close of the dog days of summer, we had the opportunity to work with some of our lowcountry friends on location at the Oaks Plantation.  The Oaks Plantation is nestled under draping oaks on the Chowan Creek on St. Helena Island.  We were inspired by the overflowing kumquat trees.  We took their orange and green hue and ran with it.  We hope you enjoy.  Special thanks to our friends at:  Lowcountry Produce, Susan DeLoach Photography, Amazing Event Rentals, Nancy Dennis Calligraphy and Watercolors and The Oaks Plantation.

Welcome to The Oaks Plantation ca.1855
